Adult & Youth Dance Development Week at the Dock Arts Centre

 

Leitrim Dance Project events commences with a 5-day programme at The Dock in Carrick on Shannon promoting pathways for local, national and international percussive dancers of all styles from across the world. 

There are 2 programmes running parallel daily. One for youths and one for adults.

Lough Allen Dance Weekend

 

The 5-day programme is followed by a weekend programme for dancers of all ages and abilities and features workshops, performances, sessions a céilí and other events - including the Sean Stil Dance Competition. It is held in the Lough Allen Hotel, Drumshanbo, 15 mins from Carrick on Shannon on the shore of Lough Allen.

Sean Stíl Dance Competition

 

The Sean Stíl Old Style Dance Display Competition is a non-competitive display of old style dancing - a celebration of dancers of all ages and of all styles from the four provinces of Ireland. It's open to all adults over 25 years to enter.

Unusually for competitions though, there will be no judges! It really is more about taking part than itis about winning. All dancers names will be put into a hat, with one name being pulled to win the €800.

Cape Breton Comes to Carrick

 

A unique night of tunes, dances and stories from cape Breton with Leitrim Dance Week musicians and dancers in residency Mairi Rankin, Mac Morin & Melody Cameron visiting from Cape Breton Island, Canada.

Dance Dialects at The Dock

 

Dance Dialects Acoustic Night at The Dock, Carrick on Shannon. featuring performances from Liam Scanlon, Áine McGeeney, Mairi Rankin, Melody Cameron, Mac Morin, World Academy of Music & Dance Students, Áirc Damhsa and Leitrim Dance Week Dancers 2020.
